Beautiful Beast Kiss Year of the Snake Tight Pencils

 Made some fixes for her arm and tighten it up.  Now she is starting to look like the character I know and love. I'm thinking if I should ink it by hand or illustrator or both... hm.

Lore the Prisoner Ink Project Final

 

Illustration tells the story of how Lore was cursed by a Unicorn.

Ink Final is when it all comes together and I threw everything I had at this one.  Spot blacks, ink wash, ink textures, fingerprints texture, white out, and white splatters with a toothbrush to make the stars.  This part was really Fun.

Lore the Prisoner Ink Project: Ink Outlines

 Ink Outlines, this was one of the longest parts, so I had to chop it up into shorter sprints to get it done. The armor scales on the Cursed Unicorn and the Skulls took a lot of time but got em done.  I think with the outlines done it feels like the final image is coming into view.

So Anyway, this Tight Pencils phase was long, getting all of details in took some time (those Unicorn scales were time consuming).. but the results were all that matters.  It looks good and contains all of the elements that I wanted to include.  Now, it's starting the Ink Process.

Lore the Prisoner Ink Project: Sketch

 Lore the Prisoner Illustration is starting to shape up.  Most of the elements are there, and I can see the vision. Now, it's time to push it to the finish line.

Next up Tight Pencils.

 The new project is Lore the Prisoner.  I want to practice everything that I learned from a month of inking to this project.

So, for the concept, I want a full body image of Lore, in a dark prison cell with a monstrous unicorn relief behind the character.

HBH Project Characters: Hidden

 Hidden: Inking process.  For this on I went ink wash with textures and an old brush and correction fluid for details and highlights.  

So what is his story, well... he is a mystery, even to the group.  Hide or the Hidden is a cursed man, and a great danger to others which causes him to shy away from people.

However, Dog finds him living in a trash can, and wanting to help, brings food whenever he can.  Eventually, Hidden came to live on the fringes of the crew, mostly because he smells very unpleasant, but he has a joyful spirit, though he doesn't say much.  

In terms of the crew, only Dog and Love have seen his true form, and Love loves him , but she loves everyone, and gives him a flower every time she sees him. Dog, doesn't know what to make of him in his true form as it doesn't seem that odd, but hide has a calm aura, and (when Hide is clean) Dog is just content to hang out for hours, both not speaking.

As for Kerberos, he can turn down his smell receptors and will have long one side conversation while doing maintenance  on himself and his weapons.  Fatal and Hidden ... don't really interact and when she is around Hide, Hides.

That is the Main Cast of Heaven Between Hell

HBH Project Characters: Kerberos

 Kerberos: The Cyborg inking.  So for this one I use only Micron Pens for inking because I wanted to try something different in look.  

Story wise, Kerberos is a veteran of the Robot Wars of 25 years earlier, that lead to the shattering of the Moon.  The name Kerberos is a reference to the three headed dog guarding the Gates of Hell, but it was the three brothers War Band Name; of which Kerberos is the youngest and the only one left alive from the war.

Now, he is a wandering mercenary and can work on both sides of the rift of NeoLA.  He meet Fatal while doing a job and our hero Dog later.  For Dog, Kerberos starts as a foul mouthed, gruff mercenary, but eventually a teacher on how to survive in a ruthless world.  He also has a soft spot for Love, calling her little bird, for whom he tells stories about he and his brothers childhood told as fantasy tales.

HBH Project Characters: Fatal

 Fatal character inking.  I like the look, fatal is a combination of film Noir trope of the Detective and the Fem Fatal into a singular character for this Cyber Punk story.  Still needs some work but, I like the look.  

Story wise, Fatal starts on the glittering city side before moving to the slums of the NeoLA where she meets Dog, and in the coarse of the story, Fatal become a sister figure to Dog, and a priceless member of the crew/family.

 For the Month of October let's do some Inking.  So I will be inking the characters trying to refine their look; starting with the main character, Dog.  My focus for dog was to make him more youthful looking.  I imagine his a an early teen (14, or 15) and I wanted a look that demonstrated that.

HBH Project (A Tale of Two Cities) part 2

  After the Great Earthquake, Los Angeles became NeoLA divided by the great rift.  The Rift is a three mile wide chasm of an unknown depth, separating NeoLA the Glittering Heaven of Stars from the Pandemonium of the southern territories.

Today, Let’s look at the Glittering Towers of NeoLA; where whispers say the Government officials are just puppets, the Corporations hold the true Power.  These Corporate Caesars, Tsars, and Kaisers control everything from utilities, food and food processing, to even controlling a corporate military called Knights.  Most everything is in the hands of Corporate Kings. 

Amongst the Glittering Tower of Glass and Steal, crime is rare and the knights patrol the streets in relative safety, because of the Hidden Ones.  No one speaks of  them, all carry on as thought everything is normal, but every action, every word is closely monitored.  On this side of the rift everything, from the finery, pleasantries and plastic smiles, everything feels fake.  

All in all, behind the glamor and gloss hides a different kind of secrecy and savagery.
