Larger Background sketches to be painted in watercolor. These are about 11x17 which is the same size of the watercolors. Drawn not very tight as I lose much of the detail in the painting and focus more on the contrast of light and dark.

More Background Sketches. These are to be painted in watercolor, and I have learned that these sketches are a big help in the painting process. They are not high in detail or drawn very large but the variations of tone, the contrast of light and dark really help to inform how it is to be painted.

Inked version of the characters. I'm inking the characters using traditional ink quills and different sizes of nibs to see what I can do. I really like using traditional media and I'm trying to work on getting the variation of line weight that look so good from early 19th century artists.
