Lore Journey (Shifts)

 Hello again,

So, I'm trying something a little different... usually I've been drawing on top of the little blown up thumbnails (bottom).  But, this time I took the thumbnail into photoshop/clips studio paint and did a ruff sketch on top, then did some inks over a print out.  So far, I think these images are a bit more solid and grounded than the last post.  I'm going to try this out for a bit, see how it goes.

Summer Time! Lore Inks

 Some Quick Lore Sketches.  Honestly, I think I'm starting to exhaust my own ink level; I'm thinking about how to advance.  So, my thoughts are to look to the master and see about replicating really great inkers.

Other than that, it's SUMMER TIME!  So, go out and enjoy the great outdoors.  I look forward to BBQ's with friends and family.

Lore Ink Studies

 Hot Boxing with Fire... More Lore Ink Studies.  Starting to figure out what I like and don't like.  I think I really like the loose gestural part of inking, but when adding the solid blacks I start to freeze up.  But, overall, I like the process.

 Summer is just about here, and so the blog might be a little slower as I focus on Family Fun. There will be a lot of Lore Studies, but hopefully a major Lore piece in August/September.

Then in September we should return for a strong end of the year run.

 So, as I think about the next project for Lore, I need to practice inking.  I'm looking a some of my favorite inkers and trying different techniques and see what I can learn.

Lore Ink Project Finale

Project Done.

That was fun. Learned a lot of things.  Used Photo Reference, ink washes, and every technique I could at it.

Whew.. I'm tired.

Lore Ink Project Week 5

 Clean Inks!

Top: Clean Inks in full, with Characters and Backgrounds. 

Middle: I usually ink the characters first. Starting with the main character Lore, then doing the bandits.

Bottom: Tight pencils done using the Full Ruff Pencils from last week.

I like keeping a clean inks so I can use it later for either watercolor or digital paint.  Next up Full Inks. So, I will see ya next week

Full Ruff Pencils.. So, now I have enough info to start inks.  I'm a little late but I will we done by next Friday.

Notes: Background is going to be a forest, just not sure if the forest will be on fire.  Also, used photo reference I shot of myself for figures and poses.  That was fun! 

Ink Project is full steam ahead.

Bottom: are the original concepts for the ink project.

Top: A collection and consolidation of ideas to make a more complete concept to work from.

It needs work but, I like it.  Going forward, adjustments will be made to take it to the next level.

Lore Inks v2 and Ink Project Start

 April is upon us; so for this month I want to try an ink illustration for Lore(top image). Doing Gesture sketches to figure out poses, action, and composition.  Let's see how this all turns out.

Also, added some ink washes to some Lore images.

 It's Inking time! So I start with inking the outside lines and save that just in case I want the clean inks for digital painting or watercolor.  I'll do two more before full inks.
