April is quickly coming to an end... Time to pick up the pace if I want to make the deadline!

Bottom: are the original concepts for the ink project.

Top: A collection and consolidation of ideas to make a more complete concept to work from.

It needs work but, I like it.  Going forward, adjustments will be made to take it to the next level.

Lore Inks v2 and Ink Project Start

 April is upon us; so for this month I want to try an ink illustration for Lore(top image). Doing Gesture sketches to figure out poses, action, and composition.  Let's see how this all turns out.

Also, added some ink washes to some Lore images.

So, I think we got a more or less reliable look let's move on to some studies and full inks.

 Lore Inks part 2, Clean inks can really help define a character.. I like how this one turned out.

 It's Inking time! So I start with inking the outside lines and save that just in case I want the clean inks for digital painting or watercolor.  I'll do two more before full inks.

 Lore is to be in Black and White, ink illustrations with some Red highlights. I like the combination, for impact and design.

 Drawing over the enlarged thumbnail sketches is a fun way to explore the character.  I'm still trying to find his look, but that will come with time.  I'm feeling impatient but, I gotta trust the process.

So, for the creative touchstones for this Lore Ink Project are my favorite wandering warriors in Conan, The Witcher Geralt of Rivia, and Vampire Hunter D.  There is something about each that I like and want to channel into Lore of the Silverhand.

The Project for this year, is Lore of the Silver Hand ink illustrations.  

My ultimate goal is to make a storybook with this character; so to start I will take this thumb sketch page above and flesh out the character.

Next week, I'll post about the influences for the character and style

Then in February, I will start posting early ink tests.

Illustrator Project No.2 BBC and Friends Color

 Colors! So, this concludes the illustrator project number 2.  Whew, that was fun.  I have some clean up and tweaks but.. I'm please with how it turned out.  Yay~

So this is the last post of the year.  I think it has been a good one.  I would like to thank all of the viewers that stopped by to check out my work.  Thank You very much!

I'm going on holiday break; but I will return on Friday, January 12th.

Illustrator Project No. 2 BBK and Friends Lines

 Using the sketch as a template to put the lines down in Illustrator.  The bolder lines for the outlines and various line weights for inner and details.  I use the grey to overlay above the sketch layer, to check the overall forms. So far, so good.

 So, Illustrator project 2, Beautiful Beast Kiss and Friends Chibi. Hopeful I can get this done before Christmas break.  Let's Go!

Mission Complete!  Beautiful Beast Kiss illustrator with details and colors.

I wasn't sure I would be able to do something so complex in illustrator.  So I have learned somethings from this.  I still have more things to try, and that is always exciting.. but that will wait for later.  Hope you like this project.

Beautiful Beast Kiss Illustrator Project

As the year winds down I like to experiment, this year I want to get better at Adobe Illustrator, and the 3d program, Blender.  Most won't be seen... , but let's see if I can do this BBK image in Illustrator.  First I'm taking an older digital image and redevelop it.
