Warring States (inktober)

They were closer than friends, they were family with the strongest of bonds... Until the royal parents died, and the nation descended into petty disputes that tore the southern mainland apart. Now the area is called the Warring States and dominated by various mercenary guilds trading loyalty for coin. But many hope the Royal Family will reunite and return to glory, because no one wins when the family feuds.

3 Sea Kingdoms

In the south-east of Yal Lenor are a multitude of beautiful islands. The first survivors from the Exodus, that did not reach the main land, settled the largest of island to form the 3 Sea Kingdoms. The 3 rivals compete with each other over sea trade routes; while fending off various sea monsters, pirates, and the ever changing weather.

Magus (Inktober)

Magus, Magi, Sourcer, all terms used for the cursed ones; those that can draw on the power of life and bend energy like magic.  Magus while few in numbers have formed a nation state occupying the cold wet north-east.

Watchers in the Shadows (inktober)

Away from the light of the Goddesses, there is darkness. Within the miasmic twilight are Watchers in the Shadows; worshiping the Old Wailing God through self mutilation, sacrifice, and the dark arts of science and sourcery.

Sacred Remembrance of the Goddesses (inktober)

The Sacred Remembrance of the Goddess is the most popular religion in Yal Lenor. Worshiped by the great majority of Umans, began as a way to honor those that turned the tide in the Great War of the Old World.

Shedim Daeva (inktober)

Mutants! Deviants! Freaks! The Shedim Daeva, are unseen creatures incased in advanced armor, from the devastated island in the north western far sea. Cursed by the Gods for trying to enter the Heavenly Realm. But what really hides beneath the Masks. We may never know.

Nedian (inktober)

Black Sea traders sailing near the Floating Islands in the south-east tell tails of strange creatures riding large flying fish. Preposterous!

Fire Gigans (inktober)

Fire Gigans are the ultimate survivalists. Living on the Great Southern Island the home of the Dragons, dragon kin, and other various monstrosities. The Fire Gigans live by the motto,"Stay vigilant, for only the Strong shall live".

Ice Gigans (inktober)

The unihorned Ice Gigans are a tribe rarely seen.  Living in the frozen wilds of the Great North.

Goubrin Babe (inktober)

The Goubrin Queen is 398 years old; who could foretell the threat to the matriarchy would be a babe. Not just any babe, this babe was born with a forked tail, the sign of a genetic throwback to a bygone era, the legendary HobGoubrin.

Goubrin Queen (inktober)

Goubrin Queen of the Swarm. Goubrins have a matriarch society rule by only one queen.  Queens are selected from unique royal lineage with the the power of "Charm", an undetermined vocal spell of persuasion that causes the listener to obey any command even if harmful to the self.

Northern Dwaravii (inktober)

The Northern Dwaravii follow the Way of Coin. Instead of striving for mastery in war and craft, they have amassed tremendous wealth buying and selling the crafts and skills of others. The northern Dwaravii are ruled by the ten wealthiest merchant families called the Kings of Coin.

Southern Dwaravii (inktober)

Southern Dwaravii are traditionalist following the Way of Stone. Living on the south-western island of Yal Lenor; they are ruled by the nine Forge Kings, craftsmen of renowned skill.

Ellowy (Inktober)

Ellowy live in the north past a great mountain range. Praying to an enormous sacred white tree; they reject association with others.

Lillan Fey (Inktober)

The Lillan Fey took up residence in the ancient magical places.  These magical trickster particularly love forests. So if you ever hear laughter or music in the forest; watch your belongings, or you might find these "children" making off with your stuff.

Yal Lenor Continent WaterColor

The survivors of The Great War found hope in discovering the new continent to call home; In the aftermath  of the Great War with the Messengers, Gigans and Angels; that brought the Sentient Races to the brink of extinction. It has been thousands of years since the "Exodus".  Yal Lenor is the name of the New World.  Yal Lenor means Great Garden in the Ellowy language.  Each race has slowly adapted to their new home.

Yal Lenor History 13-14 (inktober)

But the War was not over. In time the Messengers, Gigans, and a new enemy. The Angels, monstrosities with nine eyes that destroy whatever that look at. Their combined forces threatened all sentient races with extinction.

Our sovereignty was destroyed. We were pushed to the breaking point, the survivor looked to the last bastions of hope. Yet no walls could withstand the assault. In the end we boarded anything that could float and set out across the Black Sea. To a New World...

Yal Lenor History 11-12 (Inktober)

The Age of Heroes pecked when the united races; along with the Goddesses finally defeated the Wailing God.

In the aftermath of the war, the Goddesses returned to the heavens.  They were accompanied by the  most faithful Umans.  Now lacking a purpose, the unity of the races slowly dissolved.

Yal Lenor History 10 (inktober)

When times were the darkest; three Goddesses descended from the heavens to defend the Light of Life. So sparked the Age of Heroes!

Yal Lenor History 7-9 (inktober)

 Umans discovered in the crater of the two fallen suns; the Wailing God. An abysmal shape changing undying horror.  Its touch was deadly, with black blood that reanimated the dead!

Umans chased the Wailing God to the sacred ground of the White Spire.

The Messengers protected the Wailing God. This started a war that soon included all the sentient races, and which threatened the existence of all!

Yal Lenor History 4-6 (inktober)

Of the sentient races, the Horned Gigans, Lillan Fey, Ellowy, Dwaravii, and Goubrins; the Umans are the youngest born to the world from mud.

 Yet the Uman grew quickly, and soon saw themselves as paramount to all and rejected their elders races.

Umans, at the height of their power witnessed two black suns fall from the heavens.

Yal Lenor History 2-3 (inktober)

The first creation of the Gods were the Gigans. The Gigans set to work day and night shaping the world.  They Built the White Spire, heaped up the mountains, carved the rivers and streams, and even set the Moon into the Sky.

The Messengers were the Gods second creations.  The Messengers spilled out of the White Spire in a tremendous legion, and started refining the great works of the Gigans.

Beautiful Beast Kiss mini-comic was a perfect chance to visualize the full comic in the physical.  It always feels better than just seeing it on a screen.  In the future I want to make a physical mock-up to test all future comics.
